Synology NAS: How to configure data synchronization from Synology NAS to OneDrive

Overview

The article shows how to configure data synchronization from Synology NAS devices to Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage system

How to configure

  • Login to Synology NAS by management account
  • Go to Package Center -> Click to All Packages -> Find out Cloud Sync app -> Click Install
  • Click Open to open Cloud Sync app
  • Choose Microsoft OneDrive for Business or Microsoft OneDrive -> Click Next
  • Login OneDrive account -> Click Login
  • Click accept to allow permission for Cloud Sync app to OneDrive
  • Click Agree
  • In Local path: Choose folder that you want to sync on NAS
  • In Remote path: Choose the place that you want to sync to on OneDrive
  • In Sync direction: Choose Bidirectional if you want to sync 2 ways, choose Download remote changes only if you only want to sync from Onedrive to NAS, choose Upload local changes only if you only want to sync from NAS to OneDrive
  • Choose Data encryption: If you want to encrypt all files to sync
  • Choose Schedule settings: To create sync schedule
  • Click Next
  • Click Enable schedule settings
  • Choose the time when you want to run synchronization
  • Click Apply
  • Check all informations -> Click Done
  • If the synchronization time has not been reached, the task will be Suspended
  • If it’s time to sync, the task will be in the Syncing
