Acronis Cyber Cloud: How to configure create Backup Plan for MacOS Device.

1.Overview

Acronis Cyber Cloud (formerly Acronis Data Cloud) is a platform that enables service providers to deliver cyber protection in an easy, efficient and secure way. With one solution, you and your customers gain access to hybrid cloud backup, disaster recovery, ransomware protection, file sync and share, and blockchain-based file notarization and e-signature services, all managed from a single console.

This article I will guide you how to configure a data backup plan for MacOS devices of Acronis Cyber Cloud to protect data with Protection Agent installed.

2.Instructions.

Step 1: Create a Protection Plan.

On the dashboard of Acronis Cyber Cloud > Device > All Device. Click on the device you need to back up your data.

Example: Select the Macbooks device. Click Enable Protect > Create Plan > Protection.

Rename Protection plan.

Example: Backup Macbook.

In What to backup: You choose the type of backup you need to perform.

Example: Choose backup by File/Folder.

In Items to backup: You will select the File/Folder you want to backup.

Click Specify > Select files and folders.

In Local Folder > Open MacOS drive > select File/Folder you need to backup. Click Done.

Example: Select a folder name Data.

Click on Ok.

Next Where to backup: You need to choose the path to storage the backups of File/Folder.

Example: The backup file is saved in the Data folder on the Server with ip 172.16.31.110.

To create paths to save backups file, click Add Location. You can create by Local Folder or Network Folder.

  • Schedule: You need to schedule the time to be able to automatically backup.
  • How long to keep: Specify how long old backups will be deleted to free up storage space.

Other features you can also configure or not.

Step 2: Run Protection Plan

After the configuration is complete, click Create to run the Protection Plan.

Click on Run Now.

To check the backup process, click on the clock icon on the left.

The backup process has been completed.

Step 3: Check the backup file.

To check the files have been backed up. On the dashboard of Acronis Cyber Cloud > Backup Storage >//172.16.31.110/Data > Select Plan Backup > Show backups.

Click on Recover Files/Folders.

Open the backup path and you will see the files that were backed up in the backup plan in step 1.
