How to create an Audit Officer Role with Custom Permissions and use it to Review Events

  • In this article, we will create an Audit Officer Role with Custom Permissions and use it to review event.

Configuring

On DC – SafeGuard Server

  • Open SafeGuard Management Center.
  • Select the File menu and then select Change security officer.
  • Logon as Admin MSO.
  • Select Security Officer.
  • Expand Predefined Roles and select the Audit Officer role.
  • Right-click on Audit Officer and select New > New copy of role.
  • Name the role Audit and File Track Officer and make the following changes to the ‘Action’:
  • Click OK.
  • In the “Security Officer” pane select Security Officer > micheal@VACIF.COM.
  • In the ‘Audit’ pane tick Audit and File Track Officer.
  • Click Save.

On Client 1 (user Micheal)

  • Double-click the SafeGuard icon.
  • Right-click on Desktop select New > New Word Document.
  • Name the Word Document Micheal.
  • Right-click on Micheal.docx select SafeGuard File Encryption > Encrypt select file.
  • Right-click the Micheal.docx icon again and select SafeGuard File Encryption > Decrypt select file.
  • In the System Tray double-click the SafeGuard icon to synchronize again.

On DC – SafeGuard Server

  • In SafeGuard Management Center select the File menu and then select Change Security Officer.
  • Logon as micheal@VACIF.COM.
  • Select Reports amd select File Tracking Management.
  • Click the magnifying glass icon in the ‘File Tracking Management’ pane.
  • Drag the Event ID column header into the gray area where it says ‘Drag a column header here to group by that column’
  • Write down the “Event ID used for manual decryption events”
  • Select Event Viewer.
  • Click the magnifying glass icon in the “Event Viewer” pane.
  • Locate an entry with event ID 3900.
  • The type of encryption that look place during this event.
